The Humantay lagoon is ideal for nature lovers who do not have many days but who will find spectacular landscapes, with exotic flora and fauna along this adventure hike through beautiful valleys and white mountains especially the Humantay lagoon considered as one of the most sacred mountains and lagoons in the region.

HUMANTAY LAKE (lagoon) full day hike

Itinerary

We will pick you up 4:00 am.from the hotel in Cusco to start the adventure. Then we will take you by bus for about 3 hours and a half appreciating the most beautiful landscapes and typical villages of the Andes. Fields of agriculture, imposing mountains and beautiful valleys will make your journey an spectacular setting. After we will make a stop to have our breakfast in Mollepata and then we are going to get the starting point of the trek (Soraypampa).

Then, you will have a walk from Soraypampa (3.800m. 12,714 ft.), which is approximately 2 hours from the lagoon. On the way you can see the snowy Salkantay (6.275 m. 20.587 ft.) and the Humantay mountain (5.835 m. 19.143 ft.), as well as inter-Andean valleys surrounded by mountains and the unique flora and fauna of the Andes. When you reach the Humantay lagoon, you will get the highest point of your hike (4.200 m 13.779 ft.). There you will have enough time to explore the surroundings and take lots of pictures. After appreciating this incredible landscape, you will descend 1 hour to soraypampa and then we are going to take the bus back to Mollepata, where we will have lunch. Finally, after a fantastic adventure, you will return to Cusco around 6:00 p.m.
